Family Farmer Seed Cooperative in the News!

OSA’s Dan Hobbs talks about a recent Colorado Department of Agriculture grant awarded to the Family Farmer Seed Cooperative:

“The grant is to go for the improvement and development of open-pollinated seeds and to create a high-value specialty market for these farmers…We’re rigorously selecting various varieties of vegetable seed, primarily, for qualities of uniformity, adaptability to arid conditions that we have in Colorado, and high yield potential…We’re trying to go farmer to farmer through direct sales. There’s less supply than demand, for organic seed anyway. So there’s a fantastic market opportunity for quality seed.”
